At the age of 22, I had the chance to apprentice under one of Baltimore’s most respected woman painters, Kathy Parmelee. It was then I learned all about the life of the color wheel, how to get those perfect lines and what an exquisite finish should look like.
Five years later, I established ‘Women of Paint’ where I was joined by my mentor Kathy Parmelee. We started painting interiors and exteriors and ‘Women of Paint’ became a Baltimore custom. We won a prominent award in the in the ‘Charles Village’ neighborhood known as the ‘Painted Lady’ contest. Style magazine heard ‘Women of Paint’ was selected to transform with color, the entire block. Style magazine published an article while FOX news did a cover story on our houses from start to finish.
At the age of 30, on my own, I uprooted my company and headed to Texas where I settled in the wonderful city of Austin. During the past eight years I have painted many beautiful homes and made older homes innovative. I had the opportunity to be the color consultant and painter on the reality television show ‘Flip that House’. Since then I have changed the name to ‘Woman of Paint’.
